Children’s Grief Awareness Day is a special day honoring grieving children and their families. It is designed to bring attention to the needs of grieving children and the benefits available to them. This year, Children’s Grief Awareness Day takes place on Thursday, November 18th.

If you are a current client of KinderMourn and have a counseling session between now and Thursday, November 18th, talk to your counselor about picking up a Hope Bag at your next session! For anyone else who is interested in picking up a Hope Bag, please reach out to kaela@kindermourn.org.

Included in the box are hands-on grief activities to encourage conversation, expression, and healing among family members. As you complete the various activities, we welcome you to share photos and stories with us on social media via Facebook and Instagram.

In addition to the Hope Bag, the Wells Fargo lights at the Duke Energy Center will light up in blue in honor of Children’s Grief Awareness Month on Tuesday, November 16th. We also encourage you to wear blue that week as an additional way to commemorate and bring awareness to children who are grieving all over the world.

We look forward to commemorating Children’s Grief Awareness Day with you over the next couple of weeks!

Included in this HOPE BAG are grief activities to encourage conversation, expression, and healing.
