On Monday, October 27th, friends of KinderMourn will Tee off for Hope at Carolina Golf Club.
Unique to Charlotte, the important services offered at KinderMourn are unmatched. Established in 1978, KinderMourn addresses the special needs of bereaved parents and grieving children. Support groups and individual counseling services, led by professional counselors, are available to anyone seeking KinderMourn’s help.
The very first group session that I did at KinderMourn was not what I expected it to be. I didn’t think talking about grief could be something to look forward to. But I found myself wishing it was Monday, so I could tell everyone how I was feeling or what I was going through that week….I really wish every teenager could have the same experiences that I have had at KinderMourn. You care about how we feel and what we are going through.
KinderMourn Teen, 16
In 2013, we assisted over 4,000 children and parents with our in-house individual and group counseling services. In addition, we worked with 600 children in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools who are unable to access the services KinderMourn offers in house. Unfortunately the demand for grief support exceeds what we are able to provide.
Join us in ensuring that grief support is available to all who reach out to KinderMourn. Net proceeds from this year’s Tee off for Hope will provide critical financial support for children, teens and parents struggling to rebuild their lives after an unthinkable loss.
We hope you will join us on October 27th. Email Penny Hawkins (email@example.com) if you want more details.
