The Grieving Children's Program
"A child is old enough to grieve when he is old enough to love."
The Grieving Children's Program provides support to children and teenagers who have experienced the death of a family member or friend.
With support and guidance, children will learn to:
- Understand their experiences of grief,
- Identify and explore their feelings, thoughts, and responses,
- Discover healthy ways of grieving.
Individual counseling, play and art therapy, along with support groups are available at KinderMourn. All services are provided by trained grief counselors with specialized training in childhood bereavement issues. Families interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to schedule an initial visit with our Program Director. There is no charge for this first appointment. Subsequent services are based on a sliding scale. Scholarships are available.
